Executive Duties

• The President shall serve for two (2) years, and shall take office at the conclusion of a general meeting. S/he shall preside at meetings of the Society and the Executive Committee. S/he shall present a biennial report to the Society, which shall be circulated to members.
  
  
• The Vice President shall serve two (2) years and shall perform the functions of the President in the latter's absence. S/he shall succeed to the Presidency in the following biennium.
  
  
• The Secretary shall serve for two (2) years and be eligible for re-election. His/her secretarial duties shall include keeping the record of the transactions of the society, and such functions as may be assigned by the President and the Executive Committee. • The Treasurer shall serve for two (2) years and be eligible for re-election. As Treasurer of the Society, s/he shall be the Chief Fiscal Officer. Download the duties of the Treasurer (pdf).
  
  
• The Publications Officer shall serve for two (2) years and be eligible for re-election. S/he shall supervise publications of the Society which are not the responsibility of the Programme Committee. Download the duties of the Publications Officer (pdf).

• SCL Financial Officers (UWI Cave Hill, Mona, St Augustine) -
  Duties: The following are the duties for SCL Financial Officers on three of the four campuses of the UWI (assisting the EC Secretary and Treasurer). Duties for St Augustine and Mona SCL Financial Officers are the same:

  1) Acting as a signatory on SCL account(s);

  2) Receiving members' dues and depositing them;

  3) Upon receipt of members' dues, notify the Treasurer;

  4) Issue electronic receipts, copied to the Treasurer;

  5) Ensure that the members receive their electronic statements and recent print publications;

  6) Ensure that new members receive their welcome letter;

  7) Handle the John Reinecke prize;

  8) Prepare an annual statement, and

  9) Embark on recruitment drives.
